While we use real, regular dairy in our cream, our ice cream is lactose-free. There’s no taste difference and most people (lactose intolerant or not) find that they don’t feel the same fullness as they do with other ice creams.

ABOUT US
Bad Walter's began as an illegal pandemic pop-up out Sydney Arkin’s living room in Oakland (hence “bootleg ice cream”). The ice cream quickly became a cult favorite and was selling hundreds of pints weekly in under a minute. That is, until it got shut down by the health department.
After a few iterations, Bad Walter’s opened its first shop in Rockridge in 2024, where everything is made from scratch and spun fresh daily.
*and by "bootleg" we mean it was totally illegal
